Account & Data Deletion

Overview

Nexo Player allows you to delete your account and associated data at any time. This page explains what data is affected, how to request deletion, and what happens afterward.

Note: Account creation is optional in Nexo Player. If you never signed in with Clerk, there is no account to delete — all your data is stored locally on your device and can be removed by uninstalling the app or clearing app data.

How to Delete Your Account

Option 1: In-App

  1. Open Nexo Player
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap Account
  4. Tap Delete Account
  5. Confirm the deletion

Option 2: Email Request

If you cannot access the app, send an email to hi@chandrakantabehera.dev with the subject line "Account Deletion Request — Nexo Player" and include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 7 business days.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

What Remains on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device and is not affected by account deletion (since it is not tied to your account):

  • Media files, generated audiobooks, and TTS audio
  • Encrypted vault contents
  • Downloaded voice models
  • Playback history and Room database

To remove this data, uninstall the app or go to Android Settings → Apps → Nexo Player → Clear Data.

What May Be Retained

Certain data may be retained for legal or operational reasons:

  • Purchase records: Google Play and RevenueCat retain purchase/subscription history for billing compliance. This data is managed by Google and RevenueCat, not by us.
  • Anonymized analytics: Previously collected Firebase Analytics data is aggregated and cannot be tied to individual users after account deletion.
  • Crash reports: Firebase Crashlytics logs are anonymized and retained for app stability analysis.

Timeline

  • In-app deletion: Immediate
  • Email request: Within 7 business days
  • Third-party propagation: Clerk processes deletion per their data retention policy (typically within 30 days)
